I am a certified EMDR therapist and have been trained in EMDR and using it since 1995.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a method used to heal trauma. Whether your trauma occurred one time or many times or happened recently or a long time ago EMDR helps to process trauma that is being triggered in your life currently. Often peoples' lives derail from unprocessed trauma because they are triggered on a consistent, sometimes daily, basis. I will help you understand trauma so you know why you are experiencing certain symptoms. Together we will come up with a plan for healing. EMDR may be a helpful resource for healing.

EMDR helps the brain process trauma through using bilateral movement, which enables the brain to communicate with both the rational and emotional parts of the brain that become unable to communicate directly when trauma gets locked in. Through this processing the distress is processed and desensitized so the trauma is truly "over".
